We are striving to set an example that responsible development is attainable for a small family run business. In 2007, we have taken the step away from fossil fuels towards renewable energy with 48 SOLAR PANELS and as of April 2009, Maca Bana boast a further 63 on its roofs in addition to the pre‐existing solar water heaters.

Our guests can enjoy every imaginable convenience with the knowledge that the high quality appliances they use are powered by the very sun that they have come to soak up. Idyllic Maca Bana is designed to provide an oasis of peacefulness, luxury and beauty in tune with the lush environment. Our organic nursery is nourished by compost from The Aquarium Restaurant’s and our guests’ kitchen waste collection.

One can also visit our rain forest farm in the country where organically grown fruit and short crops are harvested for the restaurant and for individual cookery lessons in the guests’ kitchen.
