GRENADA,
ISLE OF SPICE.
The most southern of the Windward Islands. She still retains an unspoilt
air with a population of less than 100 thousand. Genuine and warm,
laid-back and friendly.
On September 7th 2004, Grenada was at the mercy of Hurricane Ivan - a life-changing experience. The Grenadians rallied to clean, clear and renovate after the devastation, keeping up the spirit and good-nature and their hospitality. As the people rebuilt their homes, the fair climate of Grenada rebuilt her natural abundance at a speed which invigorated the soul. Grenada is once again green and lush with life.
Like
the spices for which it is renowned all over the world, it is a land
combined of strong flavours, for the palate, the eye and the soul. Its
people are a potpourri of colourful characters and warm personalities.
The local cuisine, flavoured with Grenada’s many spices, reflects this
diversity, too - with African, East Indian and European influences.
White sandy beaches, waterfalls, lakes, mountains and a verdant rain forest combine to make Grenada one of the most exiting Caribbean islands to explore. The perfect spot for snorkeling, diving, fishing, sailing, sun-bathing, hiking, cycling, excursions and…
…
of course for ‘liming’, as we say here: Come together, have a drink and
a chat. Simply enjoy yourself and the Caribbean way of life.

Make the most out of your stay on our island. Take part in an excursion or discover Grenada on your own, - rent a car and explore the beauty of this island according to your mood and interests. Try Grenadian oildown, a carib and – a must – Caribbean Rum. The Maca Bana Team will be happy to provide you with information and tips.
If
your travel plans allow it, combine your stay on Grenada with a trip to
the smaller sister island of
Carriacou, very authentic and quiet, only a
short boat ride to the north, and the charming little island of Petit
Martinique.
Absolutely gorgeous: the northerly island chain of the tiny but immaculate Grenadines in the north.
